I want I want I want

RadioYourWay Great for Radio Junkies describes a couple of gadgets that record AM and FM radio shows so you can listen to them later - like a VCR, but for radio. Y'know, I've been wondering when they would do this. Maybe this sort of thing has been out there, but not quite in a convenient little package as these. I've wanted something like this for years. They don't record at high quality, but it's radio; the quality is good enough for talk radio and the like. This would be really cool for those times when a friend is a guest on a radio show, but it's on at 4 a.m. or while you're at work or something like that.

Actually, I've used my VCR (which had stereo input connections) for doing just that. I still have one or two VHS tapes that have The Blue Screen of Death... with a great soundtrack. :-)

Is this new device supposed to be radio's answer to TiVo...? Maybe that would me radio programmers would have to put some...gasp... THOUGHT into their content. (Which automatically would exclude Clear Channel's stations...)

I hooked up my VCR to my stereo once or twice in the past, mostly to tape "Folks Like Us" way back when. VCR tape was good because it goes up to 6 hours so a 3 hour show fit well. But that's pretty cumbersome to set up, and I had to leave the radio on all day so the VCR would have a signal to pick up.

I don't know if the RadioYourWay lets you skip commercials like TiVo does. Boy, wouldn't THAT be nice. But then you'd only have about half as much radio because there are so many commercials on most of the stations.
