Weekend update

The Show: My show at the Blue Note in Pontiac on Friday went splendidly. It was vastly improved by John and Leslie joining me on the last three songs, and by the audience being full of friends. Thanks to all who came or sent good wishes.

The Concert: Saturday's Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert was terrific, as usual. Guest conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev led a spectacular Pictures at an Exhibition. Wolf said they captured the true Russian spirit (darkness, that is) of the piece where most orchestras do not. The final movement elicited shouted "Bravo!"s from the audience. The one downside: the seats were in mid-balcony and very close together on all four sides, so I was very cramped and ouchy when it was all done. (Note to those who know Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor: pretty much same level of cramped and ouchy.)

Etc.: The weather was very warm and sunny this weekend -- good timing for once by Mother Nature, as the rain and cold returns today. I got a corner of my kitchen cleaned up, which makes the kitchen so much nicer. Other than the concerts, the weekend was pretty low-key.

Glad the concert went well! And it was a nice weekend... don't worry, winter's coming back for it's finale!

We have a cold front that should've just gone through, and it's supposed to snow again tonight. Since what we for the last week has melted now, I guess we need a refill. And I don't think it's supposed to get much above freezing here till sometime after this coming weekend.

The show in Pontiac was good for another (and most important) reason... CHARLIE ROCKED! (And I have the video to prove it...!) :-D
