St. Lazarus Church, 5 (darker)

The second half of my mother's recent hospitalization took place at hospital I knew well from my childhood days, when we would pass the building on the way to visit our cousins in Birmingham as well as shopping at our favorite K-Mart at the time. Next door to the hospital is St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (Ravanica). The congregation is at least a century old, but the current building was completed in 1967. I brought my camera on a couple of visits to get some photos. I just posted a set of six pictures on my Flickr page. The church's website has a view of the main entrance, which I did not get.

This article has a photo of the interior, along with information on how the church is doing these days: Orthodox Church in Detroit works to keep alive its traditions (originally from the Detroit Free Press, January 2013).
