Charlie's

Charlie at Charlie's
I said I didn't take any photos on my vacation, but that's not strictly true. I managed to grab three pics at my gas and lunch break on the way up north. I stop at Charlie's Country Corner Travel Center just south of Grayling just about every time I go up north and come back. Besides gasoline, there's an Arby's with a small Cinnabon franchise, a convenience store, a CB radio shop, and other trucker amenities like a lounge and showers. There's a truck driving school and a motel from one of the big chains. Sometimes it gets "invaded" by small troops of soldiers from nearby Camp Grayling, but mostly it's just tourists and truckers. It's just far enough out of Grayling to miss out on the big horde of tourists on the main drag there.

They used to have a bigger sign. This one was kind of hard to fit in a photo like this. There are two more in my Flickr account.

Thanks and thanks! It was a good beard day, which doesn't always happen, unfortunately.

Is the sign for the giant clam still there? Stopping to see it is on my bucket list. :)

I ... think it is. I flew by it so fast I didn't actually see the sign this time, but Sea Shell City is still there, so I'm sure they still have the giant man-killing clam.

I-75 exit 326, which I know pretty well because that's the exit to go to Blissfest. Here's a description for those who don't know of this wonder: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/11822
