Slow couple of days

Not much to report here. I've been mostly just working, Internetting, and sleeping the last few days. A few ideas for LJ posts bounce in my head, but they're all ideas that require a little development. So they'll wait till I can focus on writing.

We've had a little bit of snow that accumulated last night. Only a half-inch or so, but it's cold enough that it hasn't melted except from most paved surfaces. Good time for it, I suppose. It makes Christmas lights pop, especially with the full moon that we now have. (I mean "pop" in the photographic sense, not the explosive sense.)

I'm going to a holiday party tomorrow evening at the home of longtime friends whom I haven't seen in a few years. It's going to be a long drive, as they moved way out northwest of Port Huron. I'm tempted to leave early so I can do some sightseeing out there, but I probably have too many other things to do before the party. I think I'll be back relatively early because there will be young children at the party, but I guess I don't really know. If we break out musical instruments, it might go on longer than planned. Anyway, it should be fun.

Thanks ... it was fun. Lots of food; they could've fed a homeless shelter on all that food. Some music playing, although most of that was from kids mostly banging away at things. Still, that wasn't bad. It was just a long, long way: 71 miles one way. And I missed a turn on the way back, which added about six or seven miles. I didn't mind the driving, though. It was a very cold but clear night.
