Jots and tittles

I realized tonight that something that's 200 years old no longer dates back to the 1700s, as it did when I was younger. That seems very strange to me. It probably should also seem strange to me that this has been true for eleven years now. Things like this tend to dawn on me slowly.

Went to the gym tonight, on an empty stomach, and didn't get done till just after 10 p.m., so I didn't eat till 10:30. This ain't right. I don't know how to fix it. It probably requires better planning, which is the sort of thing that has been escaping me for a while. Seven months with the gym and I'm still learning how to fit it all in.

We're supposed to have nice weather here this weekend, dry and sunny. My reward for this is probably the job of cleaning out my gutters. I guess I just live right or something. But it'll be nice if the gutters actually work and I don't get ice dams this winter. Tell me again, whose bright idea was it to purchase a house, anyway?

I guess it beats the alternative: Staying young and callow until you crack up, while the portrait in your attic ages.
