Gimme back my tongue, cat...

It's not that I don't come up with ideas that one might blog about. It's just that I haven't managed to do anything with them. I'll see something or think something that could go in here, but then the ADD-addled squirrel that is my brain these days finds an acorn or a shiny thing (or, given what's next door is an abandoned house with pear trees, a way-overripe pear*). Then it's hours later and I'm either on my way to bed or in the middle of a workday and, well, you know. I can't even write comments, much, these days. I am reading all my usual LJs, and it's not like y'all are writing nonsense I don't care about. It's just, I dunno, commenter's block, maybe. I've not abandoned LJ for Tumblr or anything like that, and my status updates on Facebook and Twitter are just as sparse as LJ posts.

Stuff in my life is pretty much unchanged from the last few weeks. I believe my mom has started the last week of I.V. antibiotics; by next Friday she'll be released if all the blood tests are good. This will be good for both of us, immensely.

Did I ever mention I have an account on delicious.com? That's relatively new. If you want to check out news articles that I find interesting, try http://www.delicious.com/songdogmi . I was trying to figure out how to cross-post new links from there to here, but it doesn't look like it's directly possible. I could, though, cross-post from Delicious to Twitter, and then have LJ pick up my daily Tweets. That seems like a lot of work. Guess I could just post the links here directly — would give me a little bit of content here — but then I should provide context, and that seems like actual work too. The news-related links never get much comment here, anyway.

I could've blogged more if the I.V. clinic had public wi-fi. I'll blame them. Yeah.

* I know. Ewwww.

No apologies/explanations necessary. When life throws interruptions in the form of taking care of one's loved ones, you put your attentions where they're properly needed - and it's pretty obvious you have. The rest of the world will be right where you left it when you get back. :-)

Thanks John. I'm worried the world is speeding on past me, naturally. But there's not much I can do about that. Sorry I keep missing your Mentobe open mics. I'll get to one someday, I hope.
