Tickling the ivories

I heard on CBC's The Hour tonight that the actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is going on a world tour next year as a concert pianist. More details are in a Times of London article published on Sunday. You remember Hannibal Lecter playing piano in the movie Hannibal? That was Sir Tony, himself. In fact, in his youth, he considered music as a career, but then settled for acting instead. Too bad, he could've really made something of himself.... He'll play his own compositions, and in between chat about his other career and stuff. I haven't seen any list of tour stops yet, but it's still early.

I meant to come up with more today, er, yesterday, but it slipped away....it's that day job, i tell ya....

That's why I didn't say it... need to leave room for other people to have punch lines. ;-)

This sounds kinda cool. I love it when artists who are known for one genre (is genre the right word?) venture into something else. I would love to see see a performance of Sir Paul McCartney's Ecce Cor Meum. It's not as big of a switch as Sir Anthony doing piano work, but still. :)
