The obligatory John Belushi post

The 10:00 a.m. CBS national news break spent ninety seconds or more (out of five minutes, counting commercial time) on John Belushi, who died 25 years ago today. I don't know why, maybe it's a slow news day. They mentioned some of his Saturday Night Live characters, then Animal House got considerable mention, and The Blues Brothers was the last movie they talked about. They left out the thing that I think showed the true promise that Belushi had an even brighter future than past: Continental Divide. He wasn't this over-the-top manic comic; he was a lot more like a real person in a situation with some depth to it. He proved he could do this. Who know what else he could've done later?

OK, maybe I just like eagles more than frat boys or the blues. (Which is true, undoubtedly.) Still... well, I just think it's time for me to watch Continental Divide again, maybe.
