Post-turkey report

I wish I was better at Lust, and 'tis the season for Gluttony (turkey! pie! turkey! pie!), but I have to admit the deadly sin I'm best practiced in is Sloth. I'm on day two of five consecutive days off, and if I don't wake up soon my couch is going to have permanent Songdog-size dents in it, if it doesn't already.

Maybe I can't really complain today, though. I had to take the car in to have transmission fluid and power steering fluid flushed and replaced today. I took the courtesy shuttle van to my mom's apartment, since the flushes were going to take a few hours and the waiting room was packed with everyone else who waited till their day off to do car maintenance. But I walked back to the dealer to pick the car up. It was sunny! It was 50°F (10°C)! Why not? It was only a mile and a half. So I got there, paid the guy all the money I might have spent on Christmas gifts today, and drove home.

Actually today was a good day for car maintenance. I would never willingly go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't like crowds, I don't like stupid, so I really wouldn't like stupid crowds. I saw enough video footage of stupid crowds from the comfort of my couch tonight on the news. That as close as I want to get. Well, until December 22, at least.

Guess I better put the turkey leftovers away. Then I have to figure out something to do that doesn't involve a couch and a TV.

I've always thought that "sloth" ought to be spelled "slowth". ;p

It comes from eating turkey, you know. All that tryptophane.

That'll explain this weekend's slowth. I actually have had three turkey dinners this week (one at work on Monday, yesterday's, and leftovers tonight). I'm not sure it explains the past few months, but hey.
