Calling a spade a spade

Keith Olbermann was at it again Monday night with a no-holds-barred special commentary at the end of his show Countdown. This time he condemned the Republicans and the administration for causing terror by constantly focusing on terrorism and, specifically, putting out commercials designed to scare voters into voting for Republicans. The link to the transcript is http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15392701/ .

Olbermann has done at least three of these that I know of. They're notable for the fervor with which he delivers them and the blunt messages about the failures and possible evils of Bush and his associates he sends. I'm surprised MS:NBC lets him do these, because they seem a lot more controversial than most networks would be able to stand. I'm glad he is able to present them. May his voice from the wilderness carry so that even those in denial about the harm the administration is doing will have to hear.

I've actually never seen him present these editorials on TV, just read them on MSNBC. Thank heavens for the power of truth! He certainly uncovers concepts in the news that are so obvious we just don't see them.

I say bravo (which of course is also an NBC property)!

He's pretty stunning on TV - the fervor definitely comes across. I think they even add a little reverb to the audio. :) He is dead serious; a lesser person (say, Chris Wallace from Fox? or pretty much anyone from Fox) would be well advised to not fuck with him.
