Christians Among Us Travelog

I rode down to metro Louisville with Wolf today. Since he was driving, I was free to try to take photos as we went. Unfortunately we forgot to clean the bug smears off the windshield, but most of my photos were OK because I held the camera close to the windshield, which lessened the effects of the bug remains. We had rain too, and that couldn't be as easily overcome. But hey.

Two selections: The first is a photo of a church on the northbound side of I-75 north of Cincinnati. The blurred, speeding car in the middle lane of northbound I-75 is included to show the scale of the very large Jesus emerging from the water. Apparently, someone scored a goal in the water polo match. Or something like that. See more info at Roadside America: Heaven-bound: Giant Jesus Statue.
Huge Jesus statue
Second is a small church in the small town of Butlerville, Indiana. Wolf says it reminds him of church architecture in Karelia, especially the way the spire is built. In the background are the dark clouds that dropped rain on us for the following thirty miles.

Wish us luck with the moving. We went to the new house tonight only to find the renovations are not done, although most of what's left seems to be only detail work. The movers are coming Thursday, which means that not much more will get done in time. Guess that makes the house something like the web, continuing to be under construction. What is done looks pretty nice, though.

Thanks! The truly horrible part is already in progress: Wolf is boxing up the audio components. No music, oh no!!!!!

I don't think Jesus would have played water polo. It's cruel to the horses.

(Sure glad I didn't have to move THAT statue....)

Horses... hee hee hee

Yeah, I thought that statue would give you the shivers, seeing as how the one you already had to move was pretty heavy yet nowhere near this one's size.
