Geeky Snow Fun

Mom said it's snowing in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan tonight. Bet they just LOVE that up there on May ELEVENTH. I just ran across an article on the National Weather Service's Detroit website about a snowstorm on May 9, 1923 -- the link is http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dtx/talesmay.php. Six inches of snow fell, but melted the next day. The article reports, "In 1912, 1.5 inches fell on May 13th for the second highest amount and the latest snow actually occurred the last day of the month, May 31st, 1910 with a trace." That makes our snowfall of April 24, 2005 look a bit more seasonal. (Well, no it doesn't, really.)

Software training day four for my new job has concluded. My brain is a mush of functions and codes. But it's also happy. Things are happening with my old projects that make me realize just how lucky I am to have moved on -- even though I'm still helping out during breaks from training.
