Great Show

The show with jjfmi last night went really well. We had a lot of fun, and I think that really came across to the audience -- it looked like they had a lot of fun too. The enthusiasm covered some of my rough spots. <sheepish grin> But there probably weren't many rough spots, really. Tell you the truth, I had been concerned about whether we would draw many people. But I guess people were waiting for us to play a show on the west side of town, because we did pull a good crowd, for which we are very grateful.

The one odd development was, the band who was scheduled to play after us canceled at the last minute, as in while we were playing. I even saw them with instruments at the coffee house. But from what I heard, they weren't sure they could play for our crowd and asked to reschedule. I don't get that -- you have to play for people you don't know in order to get new fans. We found out at 9:00 when we finished our show, and we were not quite ready to keep going. So we had fun chatting with folks, then went back to John's for pizza and more chatting.

Sometimes this music thing can be fun.

Thanks :) You should've been there. It would've just meant a plane ticket and a passport and security inspections and customs and .... er, well, maybe we'll film a show and send you a DVD sometime. Either that or we'll book a show near you when we go on our triumphant World Tour sometime in the mid-2010s.

(We'll book Manchester after our command performance for the Queen, so we'll have something to look forward to.)

It was much fun....
as I can attest to. The gentlemen played beautifully and to a very appreciative crowd. Very enjoyable.

And yes, songdogmi, I *will* update my LJ....someday....

The crowd made us play better. After all, we couldn't disappoint such nice people. :)

Update your LJ? Don't make me nudge you....

Metal! (OK, fine, "Folk!", but it doesn't have the same ring as a phrase suggesting appreciation, duzzit?)

Hey, getting to be the headliners is always a good thing, right? That little bit extra acclaim. Not that it sounds like you needed it! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. That's by far the most important thing about gigging, imho.

Being headliners is good. We didn't get a "green room" or anything, and we had to carry all our own equipment, but it was cool.

There was one moment where I put up the devil horns and yelled "Me-tulll!" but I don't remember why I did that, now. It probably had something to do with someone making a loud noise into the sound system, which made the reverb unit go sproinGGGGGGG.

And oddly, no requests for "Free Bird" OR "American Pie"... (ducking)

:-)

I almost requested "Proud Mary," but thought better of it.
