Separation? WHAT Separation?

I just officially got frightened: State bill proposes Christianity be Missouri's official religion. [This site may require registration.]

I believe this is the first such action in a state legislature in my memory.

The Missouri General Assembly's page on the resolution is http://www.house.mo.gov/bills061/bills/hcr13.htm. This is the full text of the resolution: http://www.house.mo.gov/bills061/biltxt/intro/HCR0013I.htm

It was introduced January 26, 2006 and was reported out by the Rules committee on February 15, 2006. The next hearing has not yet been scheduled. I'm not sure the resolution will require any specific actions or changes, and there's no money attached to it. But it is a pretty definite statement by a group of people who somehow feel they have a point to make to those who don't agree with them.

I mean, it's bad enough that Tom Monaghan (founder and former owner of Domino's Pizza) wants to build a Catholic city around his new Catholic university in Florida....

State Religion? Well... look on the bright side. See how the Republicans in power have managed government agencies, such as FEMA? Now... imagine the havoc they can inflict upon Christianity!
