Retraction!

'Talini' may not be Inuit, but cub will likely keep her name : Word's source found to be Internet hoax. Poor little polar bear cub... now she has a fake name.

"In fact, talini doesn't sound anything like an Inuit word, in any dialect type," said Patrick Marlow, professor of linguistics at the University of Alaska's Native Language Center in Fairbanks.

What a bummer. But she's still a cutie, and her mother loves her just the same.

This journal regrets reposting the erroneous information that "Talini" was an Inuktitut word, and begs the forgiveness of readers.

i got another laugh at idiots out of that one.. and my initial thought was.. "who would name the poor lil cub a name like that?? has to be someone from the ghetto." are they sure the girl didnt mean tahini? you know, sauce that goes on mediterranean food?

My buddy Wolf keeps saying it sounds like something that goes with hummus. :-)

Tahini actually is an inredient IN hummus...dang...now I'm hungry.
